Border Patrol Police at new Halockhani have blocked Mon refugees'
access to their rice storage warehouse, officials from the MNRC said
yesterday.

The 6,000 Mon refugees talking shelter camp are due to receive
their weekly supply of rice today.

However, MNRC official are afraid that the BPP will not allow any
more rice to be handed out until the refugees return to Burma.
The rice warehouse is near "old" Halockhani but is actually on
Thai soil, the MNRC said.

The BPP were not available for comment. But the MNRC said they
were told the orders came from the 9th Infantry Division based
in Kanchanaburi.

Meanwhile, a fact-finding team from the US House Foreign Affairs
Committee has been denied permission to enter the camp.
The fact-finding team met with MNRC officials last night.
