response to Mr/Ms.Tozzi

To Mr/Ms Tozzi
You have one valid point to make. I responded hastily and emotionally to
Dr. U ne Oo's proposal and therefore my response read as a personal
attack on Dr. U Ne Oo, instead of more clearly indicating my strong
opposition to his proposal. Yes, I made a mistake in not expressing
myself clearly, but not nearly as big a mistake as you in your even less
coherent response to me.
you demonstrate your dislike of personal attacks in an extremely unusual
way. Your comparison of me with Nazis is not only beyond insulting but
also makes me question your understanding of the word dignity. Your
patronising and accusing attack only exhibits the "mental laziness' that
you accused me of.
My emotional response was based on the very real concern that if Burmese
refugees are repatriated at a time when the SLORC, via the National
Convention, is only seeking to further constitutionally consolidate its
power, i do not believe the safety of repatriated Burmese refugees will
be guaranteed. The situation of the rohingyas only proves this. The
recent arrest of Ko Ye Htut and the continued arrests of student and
political activists demonstrate that the SLORC is still serious about
brutally suppressing political and human rights. The violations of
ceasefires, porterage, forced labour etc all point to the fact that the
SLORC has no intention of relinquishing power. However I am not going to
write fact after fact to prove to you my genuine care for the Burmese
people. My motivation is sincere care for the burmese students and
people of Burma- NOT hatred! I strongly reject your attempts to depict me
as someone motivated by "animal emotion" and hatred. You are right in
saying that "any movement needs reasonable men and women..." you,
however, are certainly not one of them. You should carefully re-examine
your own motivations, as an attitude such as yours is far more damaging
than mis-directed emotion.
