First, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's to all of you on the BurmaNet.

Second, my apologies for the heaps of junk mail which you have just 
received.  A BurmaNet subscriber left his office for a month and put an 
automatic answering message on his email.  He set his server to 
automatically answer every incoming message--including those from 
BurmaNet--with a note saying he was away.  The BurmaNet server 
faithfully redistributed his note, which generated yet another note.  
Over and over and over.

So that this doesn't happen again, please remember a couple of simple rules:

 NEVER put an automatic responder on your account while you are subscribed
 to any mailing list

 If you are closing your account, planning to travel, be out of the 
office, be sick for an extended period of time (or die), please
UNSUBSCRIBE FIRST!
