>Hello Carol,

I am a Canuck with a Thai wife and a farm a few km from the Burma border, presently here
in Canada.I buy Jadeite from the Shan,Wa and Burmese and am sympathetic to the individual
in a tight bloody situation. If you have not received the info you are attempting to obtain, I will
complete the task for you.I am a little hesitant to triplicate the info you require .If you are
missing anything that you need, contact me by E and I will get it for you within 24 hours, if
possible. The Canadian Gov. was exceptionally expedient in assisting Lao refugees a number
of years back.......but the 'mood' of the people here is anti Refugee, due to the numerous
cases of fraud that have been displayed on TV.We also have a large Chinese population that
traditionally does not assimilate into the host population and has increased racial tension.

The Lao immigrants, going back to 1975, seem to have assimilated well as their communities
are smaller in size.I believe that the Burmese/Karen would do equally well.Be aware that
there is a groundswell of 'redneck & racist' opposition parties in Canada that are appealing to the blue collar worker and the under employed to resist any further migration of non white
peoples into Canada. Ideally, that will not effect Federal Government policies.

We (Canada) do have the room......but possibly not the desire to help. (10-12% unemployment)

If you do not have your information ,contact me.....................regards...................Ken
