Re: Update Info. on the House Burma Sanction Bill (July 19, 1996)

Dear Friends,

Within this week, we have much great news about co-sponsorship for the House version of
Burma Freedom and Democracy Act of 1995 (HR.2892). Yesterday (July 18), Congresswoman
Nancy Pelosi (D-California) and Congressman Lane Evans (D-Illinois) have agreed to
co-sponsor the Burma Freedom and Democracy Act of 1995 (HR.2892).
I would also like to encourage all of you to call or write a short thank-you note to
those who have sponsored the Burma Sanction bill.

Special Announcement: The Burma and the U.S. Congress (Legislative Information Network)
home page is already up on the web. THE BURMA and THE U.S. CONGRESS information network
is designed to make legislative information available to the Free Burma Campaign over
the Internet. This network is to be the distribution point for information on
Congressional activities with regard to Burma, including legislation under
consideration, the complete text of the Congressional Record, the House and Senate
calendars, email addresses for members of Congress and links to other legislative
information resources on the Internet. If anyone who has access to Internet (WWW),
please go and visit there. The URL for the Burma and the U.S. Congress home page is:
