Subject: URGENT ALERT: PROTEST RALLY AGAINST THE SLORC DELEGATION

Dear Friends of Burma,

We, the democratic Burmese students and human rights activists will hold a
protest rally against the military delegation headed by SLORC's Finance
Minister, Brig. Gen. Win Tin who is attending the World Bank and IMF Annual
Meeting scheduled for October 1-3.

We would like you to join our rally to condemn the SLORC delegation and
protest its recent crackdown on the Burmese democracy movement led by Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi.

As of September 30, 1996, SLORC has admitted to arresting 559 democracy
activists, including 109 members of parliament from the National League for
Democracy.
