Human Rights Violations...

Dear friends,
I am a student at the International School of Kuala Lumpur, in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and I have decided to write a research paper on
human rights violations in Burma for my Southeast Asian History class. I
haven't really decided on a thesis for the paper, but I am sure I want to
do it on human rights violations in Burma. I have information on Aung San
Suu Kyi's house arrest, and the SLORC's forced labor campaigns and
relocationing of indiginous people's. What I lack however, is a particular
focus for the paper; something to tie all of the tragedy together, per
say... I was thinking along the lines of "The SLORC's persistant
violations of human rights of the people of Burma has held Burma back,
instead of promoting growth, which is what the SLORC intended." I don't
really know if this wording is focused enough for a paper that can be a
maximum of 2500 words. I'd appreciate any feedback from all of you out
there.

Thanks for your time,
I'm looking forward to responses,
Sincerely,

Eric Shoemaker
