Step up pressure on Thailand, U.S.



	"I feel very bad for these Karen.  The Burmese soldiers are very cruel,
raping and killing anyone.  If the Karen go back, they are as good as dead."

2,300 Karen have taken refuge.  His local militia chased away 50 Burmese
soldiers who attacked the camp, which was left unguarded by the Thai Army.

STEP UP THE PRESSURE ON THAILAND AND THE U.S.!

	Burmese Relief Center--Japan is once again appealing to you to raise your
voice against the genocide being committed by the Burmese army with the
complicity of those in the Thai government and army who stand to profit from
the demise of the Karen.  Please (1) pressure the following Thai authorities
to stop the repatriation of Karen refugees, (2) urge the following U.S.
authorities and the UNHCR to apply the same pressure to Thailand and (3)
urge the U.S. authorities to impose long-overdue sanctions on Burma:
