Subject: Price of consumer goods  increase in Burma

US sanctions will not effect on Burma, Burmese regime(SLORC) said. But
in reality, consumer goods scarce in markets by storage of local
businessmen in cities of upper Burma (esp in Mandalay and Sagging) as a
consequence of sanction. Consumer goods prize are more increase and
ordinary people are afraid to running out of basic consumer goods and
other essential items like medicines. The government can not control and
restrain the escalated prize of basic consumer goods but they are ready
to waste huge amounts of money on USDA rallies against the US sanctions,
local people said.
