Subject: Intruders?  Who's the tresspasser here!  Why isn't UNHCR  protecting asylum seekers?  If it isn't their business, whose business  is it?

1,000 Myanmar intruders back home

Dhaka (AP) ? Bangladesh has repatriated 1,000 Myanmar intruders over the
last two weeks, an official said Saturday.

Nearly 400 of them from the eastern Myanmar province of Arakan left for home
on Wednesday, said the district official at the border town of Taknaf, 355
kilometers south of Dhaka, the Bangladesh capital.

Ali Imam, the deputy commissioner, said the influx of the Myanmar Muslims,
known as Rohingya, has increased in recent weeks.

The office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees as Cox's Bazar put the
number of fresh arrivals from Burma around 3,000.

Nearly 270,000 Muslims had fled Myanmar in 1991 to escape persecution by the
authorities.
