Power Plan with Burma
Burmese Energy Minister Khin Maung Thein signed an agreement to sell up to
1,500 megawatts of electricity to Thailand by 2010. Under the $2.5 billion
deal, Rangoon will choose the developers for the projects to generate
hydropower and natural gas-fuelled power.
