The ASEAN must review its policy so-call"non-interference in the
member's internal affairs". Obviously, they, the ASEAN (esp; key members
'Malaysia,Indonesia and Thailand) just want to share the profit of
economic but they totally ignore about political and social crisics of
its member countries by useing that kind of policy. Should we say that
they are opportunism? I am sure that they are.
They always say that regional security, peace and stability is their
priority (may be just on the paper). If they really care about those kind
of things, they must apporoch positively and constructively to those
countries in the region which are in the crisics.Ofcourse they
don't.Because this time is really convenience for them to
control(monopolise) the regional economic when the democratic countries
are opposing the brutality and condemning the human-rights violations in
the region.
So, we,who fight for freedom and democracy in Burma, must have chance to
critise directly to the ASEAN because Burma is a part of the South East
Asia region and the ASEAN accept the Burmese military regiem as a member
of its organisation.
I realise that the ASEAN's policy of "non-interference" in the members
internal affairs is the second "construtive engagement".
SO,ASEAN MUST ADOPT THE POSITIVE APPOROCH RATHER THAN NON-INTERFERENCE
ON BURMA.
