Singapore has urged Burma's military government to create
an attractive and stable environment for foreign investment.

Singapore's Trade and Industry Minister Lee Yock Suan,
opening a joint-ministerial meeting in Singapore, also drew
attention to the difficulties of doing business in Burma.

Mr Lee said competition was very intense for foreign capital,
which would flow to areas which were most condusive to
          investment.

Singapore is Burma's largest trading partner and the nation's
          second biggest foreign investor.

General Khin Nyunt, first secretary of the SLORC military
regime, led a Burmese delegation to Singapore, and also held
talks with Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong and his deputy,
          Lee Hsien Loong.
