the role of the Burmese Women

Sometimes last month, I heard it on National Public Radio - a prog called
"the World" where a Burmese commentator proudly read a story titled "what's
in a name?".

She (the commentator) similarly stated that Burmese women have long
tradition going way back to have kept their name even if they're married.
That how proud she was to carry on her name, etc.
