"Burma will get rid of military rule soon"
The exile NCGUB Prime Minister, Dr. Sein Win told that Burma would get rid
of military rule soon. The PM, in his message, said that support for
democracy struggle in Burma obtained momentum while military rule has gone
weaken inside itself. His message was read in a gathering of Indians and
Burmese arranged by supporters of democracy in Myanmar marking the 50th
anniversary of independence of Burma in New Delhi yesterday.
In the celebration, held at Triveni Hall, the exile MP, Dr. Tint Swe told
that the occasion was not only to mark the golden jubilee of independence
but also it was 50th year of civil war in his country.
On the occasion, different cultural programs were performed by Indian and
Burmese youth directed by Mr. Suhil Sharma. The song, "We shall overcome"
was sung collectively by Indians and Burmese together in support of
Burmese democracy movement. On this occasion, the famous academics like
Dr. G. P. Vimal and many others were present.
