Former Burmese minister's kin flees to Thailand

Bangkok:  The daughter of a former minister in Burma's military
government has fled to Thailand and bound for Singapore with her husband
and two children, reports said on Sunday.
Ms. Kyi Kyi Than crossed into Thailand with her family at The Ranong
border checkpoint on January 20' headed for Singapore, the Bangkok Post
reported.
The high-profile businesswoman is the daughter of lieutenant-general Tun
Kyi, one of three top ministers in the former State Law and Order
Restoration Council and who has been sidelined by an investigation into
corruption allegations. Sources in Rangoon said Kyi Kyi Than had tried
to leave Burma shortly after her father was forced out of his post late
last year.
