Karen rebels attack Thailand, burn refugee camp

BANGKOK, March 11 -- An armed group of Karen ethnic rebels crossed into northern Thailand
on Wednesday morning, attacking a refugee camp and setting fire to more than 1,000 dwellings, a
military official on the border said. 

Myanmar-based Democratic Karen Buddhist Army fighters crossed the Moei River into Mae Sot
district 423 kilometers (254 miles) north of here, attacking a Karen refugee camp with heavy
weapons and killing two people before retreating. (AFP)
