      Sulak's arrest shows
      something is wrong

      THAILAND has produced many fine
      scholars, and Sulak Sivaraksa is perhaps
      the best among them all, a Socrates in fact,
      well respected around the world. His arrest
      shows there is something wrong with Thai
      society. 

      Like Socrates, Sulak is, so to speak, a
      gadfly that is stirring with its stings both
      Thai society and the world which are now
      so greedy, and are also blind to the plight of
      the poor and the unborn generations, and to
      the environment. 

      Spare him, Thailand. Please release him at
      once. We need him to stir us with his stings
      of wisdom.
