March 26, 1998. Six cops linked to Salween scam moved

Six Mae Hong Son police officers suspected to have been involved in the 
Salween logging scandal have been transferred.

The transfer order was signed yesterday by the police chief, Gen Pracha 
Promnok.

The officers are:

Pol Col Surachet Thopunyanond, chief of Mae Saring district police in 
Mae Hong Son, who is to be attached to the Sixth Regional Police Bureau.

Pol Col Sithiporn Srichanthap, superintendent of the Railway Police's 
1st Sub-division, who is to be attached to the 4th Sub-division.

Pol Lt-Col Aswin Klomvit, deputy chief of Sop Moei district police, who 
is to be attached to Nan provincial police headquarters.

Pol Lt-Col Khongsak Thipayom, commander of Border Patrol Police Company 
331, who is to be attached to the 41st BPP Sub-division.

Pol Lt-Col Nitinai Sukawiriya, commander of BPP Company 337, who is to 
be attached to Region 4 BPP headquarters.

Pol Lt-Col Ronnakorn Rithirong, forestry police inspector, who is to be 
attached to he Third Regional Police Bureau.
