A PEACEFUL PROTEST AGAINST BURMA=92S MILITARY REGIME






We,the undersigned democracy and human rights organizations are planning =
to organize a peaceful demonstration in Tokyo,on July 7, which is =
notable for a significant event in the modern history of our country..In =
1962 , on 7 July ,the Revolutionary Council headed by General U Ne Win =
ordered soldiers to open fire on the students of Rangoon University and =
to dynamite the Students=92 Union building which was full of students =
who were staging peaceful demonstrations , all of whom were killed in =
the blast.


Burma=92s military regime the State Peace and Development Council ( SPDC =
),is now preparing to detain Daw Aung San Suu Kyi ,Burmese pro-democracy =
leader and Nobel Peace Laureate ,in a special house within a women=92s =
prison in Yangon.


We would like to stage a peaceful protest to be alarmed that Burma=92s =
brutal junta has threatened to assassinate our beloved leader Daw Aung =
San Suu Kyi and is arresting elected representatives ,and that =
international community must act quickly to safeguard Daw Aung San Suu =
Kyi and members of parliament or it could be too late.
