88 People Fast in Washington, DC

Dear Friends,

To honor the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of 8-8-88,
88 people, representing several Burmese and American organizations,
will be fasting 8 hours, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 8,in 
Lafayette Park, in front of the White House, in Washington, DC.

This special event is organized by the "Memorial Committee for the
10th Anniversary of 8-8-88", an ad hoc committee, consists of 
many organizations, such as DBSO (Democratic Burmese Students 
Organization, USA), CRDB (Committee for Restoration of Democracy
in Burma), BAC (Burma Action Committee), FBM (Free Burma Movement),
NLD (L.A.), NCGUB (National Coalition Government of the Union of
Burma) and D.C. BAN (D.C. Burma Activists Network). 

The Photo Exhibition at the same site will bring you back to the
battle fields of "8-8-88 uprising" in Burma.
