SSA Statement (re)

Saw Kapi:

The translation rendered by Okkar is O.K up to a point. However, Paragraph
-2 didn't say, "The Hluttaw called by the NLD should not be convened and
hence the Northern Shan State Special Region 3 does not support it".
Instead, it reads, "We therefore sincerely present, with public interest at
heart, that it will not be advisable for the NLD to call a parliament
(Hluttaw) at this time".

Paragraph. 3 is absolutely off the mark. The original rather puts it this way:

What Northern Shan State Special Region-3 wishes is that the resolution of
political problems politically is the best way that can ensure democracy
and the formation of a genuine union. Only then the economic and social
status of the people in our country can be improved and a prosperous land
emerged".

Anyway, you should remember that the SSA, and other ceasefire groups, were
forced to write what they did while the junta held the local population at
gunpoint. Shame on you, Okkar and all those you represent.
