Fabius/Suu Kyi/Total

this is good and welcomed news. thank you infobirmanie, and may I
address a question in response for context here. recognition of daw aung
san suu kyi is definitely commendable, but did the former prime minister
address the problem of the company total in burma? that is the main
issue of french constructive engagement policy there, and it needs to be
addressed by them. Can we count on Laurent Fabius to support the July EU
resolution and the Socialist International declaration last week that
Total desist from new investments Burma and freeze current investments
there? That is the never-ending unanswered question. Has Total bought
their silence. Even CEO Theirry Desmarest of Total, with full french
government backing, welcomes Suu Kyi to France anyday, junta permitting.

Will Fabius do what Suu Kyi asked, and stop investing in Burma now.
