NOTE: 1st U.S dollars were found, then Thai Baht... what ever happened
to this so-called fake money??  Typically the authorities claim it is
fake and confiscate it for their own use. The arrestees are probally
alias.



Myanmar Seizes Counterfeit Thai Baht Notes

            YANGON (Dec. 8) XINHUA - Myanmar authorities have
            seized some 887 counterfeit 500 Thai baht notes in illegal
            trade at the border town of Tachilek, eastern Shan state,
            opposite Thailand's Maesai. 

            Tachilek is one of Myanmar's three border trade points
            opened with Thailand. 

            The counterfeit baht notes were confiscated on December 1
            and 2 by a combined team of the local police and
intelligence
            unit when trading for one head of draft cattle in a house
was
            done, the official New Light of Myanmar newspaper reported
            Tuesday. 

            Myanmar authorities took action against two people for their
            involvement in the case. 

            Meanwhile, Myanmar authorities nabbed some dealers of
            counterfeit notes of U.S. dollars at a restaurant in Yangon
in
            October. The counterfeit dollar notes were reported to have
            been obtained from the Thai border town of Maesot, another
            trade point opposite Myanmar's Myawaddy.
