Members of the NLD are forced to resign

The members of the National League for Democracy in the townships 
throughout the country are summoned by their township SPDC units who 
threaten them and use undue pressure to obtain their signatures on the 
printed forms of resignation mentioned below. Even if they refuse to 
resign and put their signatures to the documents their signatures are 
forged and the authorities add their names in the list which is 
published. The Irrawaddy Division is notorious for this practice.
