				   N0.A-0737 (I) 21st December 1998 	

(1)		Newly-built, Renovated School Buildings Opened in Dagon Seikkan
				Township
		The ceremony to open Dagon Seikkan Township Basic Education Middle School
and hand over the new building of the school  was held at the school in Ward
No 88 on 20 December. Minister for Construction and Deputy Minister for
Education formally opened the new school. After that, Director-General of
Department of Human Settlement and Housing Development handed over the related
documents on the landholding and school building,the three-storey concrete
building is 194 feet by 30 feet, on 4.96 acre plot, to Director-General of
No-3 Basic Education Department.  The ceremony to open and hand over the new
building of Dagon Seikkan Township Basic Education Primary School No 5 was
also held at the school in Ward No 87 on Yadana Theinkha Road. The new two-
storey concrete building is 194 feet by 30 feet on 1.494 acre plot. Then the
ceremony to hand over the renovated building of Dagon Seikkan Township Basic
Education Primary School No. 2 was held at the school in Ward No 88 as well.
(2)		Cash  Donated to Shwethanlwin Home for Aged
	          A ceremony to donate cash for Shwethanlwin Home for the Aged in
Dagon Seikkan Township, Yangon Division, was held at new building of the Home
for the Aged on 20 December.  Then, well-wishers donated cash  for the funds
of Home for the Aged. The reinforced concrete building of Shwethanlwin Home
for the Aged is being built on 5 acres of land, including hostels for the aged
persons, the mess, kitchen, prayer hall, lobby, clinic and office which can
accommodate 100 aged persons. The construction project of Home for the Aged
began on 18 March 1998, and it is being built by Shwethanlwin Co. Ltd.  
(3)		Rural Health Centre Opened in Nawnghkio Township
		A ceremony to open the rural health centre at Shwepyinyunt Village,
Nawnghkio Township, Kyaukme District, Shan State (North), was held at the
centre on 19 December. Secretary of Village Administrative Committee (VAC)
explained matters related to construction of the building of the centre. The
commander of North East Command presented medicines and cash for the funds of
the centre. Commander, Minister  for Home Affairs and Chairman of VAC U Li
Kyon Chan formally opened the centre. The rural health centre was set up in
Shwepyinyunt Village with the assistance of the Committee for Implementation
of Progress of Border Areas and National Races and the commander of North-East
Command and with the cooperation of Kokang  nationals of the village.
