(1)		Myanmar Doctors Resident in foreign Countries Visit Hlinethaya City of
Industry, Dagon University

		Myanmar doctors and families, who live abroad and are on a visit in Yangon,
on 28 December visited Hlinethaya City of Industry in Yangon North District
and Dagon University and Yuzana Garden City Project in Yangon East District.
Director of Department for Human Settlement and Housing Development explained
to them the works and factories in Hlinethaya Industrial Zone and housing
projects being implemented by the department. Afterwards, they toured the
factories and mills in the town, Nawade Garden Housing Project and Padethabin
Myodaw Project. Later, they visited Dagon University and Yuzana Garden City
Project in Yangon East District.

(2)		Civil, Chemical Engineering Groups Hold Paper Reading Session

		Paper reading session of Civil Engineering Group and Chemical Engineering
Group under the Myanmar Engineering Association was held at Myanmar
Engineering Association on 28 December. Resource person of Civil Engineering
Group presented a paper on "Appropriate Technology for Domestic Waste Water
Treatment" and resource person of Civil Engineering  Group on "Evaluation of
Equivalent Uniformly Distributed Loads From Discrete Survey-Data by using
Influence Survey Theory". Resource person of the Chemical Engineering Group
presented a paper on "Production of newsprint from timber" and resource person
on "Salt Effect in Distillation". Those present took part in the discussions.
Mechanical Engineering Group, Textile Engineering Group and Mining Engineering
Group of Myanmar Engineering Association will hold the paper reading session
in Myanmar Engineering Association on 3 January, 1999.

(3)		Pyokhinthit Art Sculpture Exhibition Continues at School

		Final day of Pyokhinthit art, sculpture and gold embroidery exhibition was
held on the first floor of National Museum in Dagon Township on 28 December.
Sponsored by Research and Training Division of Fine Arts Department, the
Ministry of Culture, 410 water colours, 167 oils, 63 pieces of plaster
sculptures, one wooden sculpture and six stone sculptures were displayed
there. The exhibition also displayed 528 paintings and 70 sculptures created

by the artists of the division and 49 paintings which are the works of other
artists. Other works of art included 140 paintings and 70 sculptures collected
by the division and 437 paintings displayed by artists. The exhibition will
continue at Art and Sculpture School on Komin Kochin Road, Bahan Township,
Yangon.
