PRESSRELEASE NO-1/99  
- Aiming at the restoration of Democracy and Peace in Burma, 
- The implementation of dialogue between SPDC and Daw Aung San Su Kyi, 
- All solve all issues of Burma, 
A ?Global prayer for Burma? program will be sponsored by WCC (World Council of
Churches) on 14th February 1999. The seventh central committee meeting which
held on 6th Jan 1999, had unanimously decided to participate in the ?global
prayer for Burma? program in which all different religion will participate
according to their belief.
19th February 1999, will be the 2nd anniversary of the innocent victim who
died
on account of the SLORC's randomly shooting.
As KSO members from Mae Sot intend to hold memorial service as a symbol of
having regret identically to their family members, all KSO member from their
respective religions will be instructed to participate on that global prayer
service for Burma.
Karen National Unification seminar, which held on the 25th of January 1999
through 29th of January and sponsored by KNU is an essential program in
time of
a revolutionary hardships. We are very happy to hear that the seminar could
successfully hold under the sponsorship of KNU.
At the same time, our KSO seventh central committee meeting had expressed deep
regrets for not being invited KSO and DKBO to attend the meeting.
