Myanmar calls for Thai help in drug trade suppression

     Myanmar intelligence chief Khin Nyunt asked Thailand on Monday
to send experts on crop substitution to Myanmar to help combat
illegal drug production, a Thai government official said Monday.
     Accompanying Myanmar Prime Minister Than Shwe on a two-day 
official visit to Thailand, Khin Nyunt urged the secretary of the Mae 
Fah Luang Foundation, which manages a royal crop substitution project 
in northern Thailand, to assist Myanmar set up a similar project.
