(1)		K 23m Worth Maubin BEHS 1 Centennial Building Handed Over to Ministry of
Education

		A ceremony to open a new two-storey building to mark the centenary of Maubin
Basic Education High School 1 was held in Maubin in conjunction with the
ceremony to hand over the new building to the Ministry of Education on 20
March. The 24-room new building is 216 feet long, 102 feet wide and 29 feet
high. It was built  at a cost of K 23.3 million within five months.

(2)		Ambassdor U Soe Win Presents Credentials to President of Pakistan

		U Soe Win, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Union of
Myanmar to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, presented his  credentials to His
Excellency  Mr Muhammad Rafiq Tarar, President of the Islamic Republic of
Pakistan on 18 March 1999, in Islamabad.

(3)		Myanmar Delegation Back From Bangkok

		Myanmar delegation led by Director-General of Myanma Radio and Television
arrived back Yangon  by air on 20 March after attending the 14th meeting of
ASEAN Culture and Information Committee on Radio, Television, Film and Video
Work Group held in Bangkok from 17 to 19 March.

(4)		MGF President's Trophy Golf Championship Continues

		The Myanmar Golf Federation President's Trophy golf Championship continued
for the third day at Hanthawady Golf Club (Bago) on 20 March. The best scorers
of the third-day play were Myint Thaung with  213 strokes, Soe Kyaw Naing with
216, Win Aung with 218 and Win Naing Tun with 219 in professional level. In
men's amateur level, Ohn Myint leads with 222 strokes, Min Naing with 226, Zaw
Linn with 229 and Than Naing with 229. Leading scorers of women's amateur
level on 
second-day play were Khin Thu Thu with 154 strokes and Khin Ma Nyunt with 163.
The championship will continue tomorrow.
