Re:Myanmar says Suu Kyi can go to England for funeral
=====================================================

This comes at a time when many of us are much saddend by the news of the
demise of Dr Michael Aris whose request for a visa to see his wife Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi was rejected outright by the SPDC. Now, SPDC is saying
that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi can attend her husband's funeral when she did
not request to do so.

Obviously, SPDC is still trying very hard to get Daw Aung San Suu Kyi
leave Burma.

Therefore, I would like to ask SPDC to stop being a nuisance to Daw Aung
San Suu Kyi immediately at this very sad and difficult moment for her
when they could have granted a visa to Dr Aris to fulfill his last wish
to see his wife during the earlier days of his illness.

"Our condolences to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and her family on the demise of
Dr Michael Aris on 27 March 1999"

With metta,
