The Myanmar-Japan Traditional Cultural Goodwill Concert was jointly
presented by Vice-chairperson of Japan Kimono Association(Keibi-kai) ,Mrs.
Keiko NAKASHIMA , play-director Bogalay Tint Aung of Myanmar Motion Picture
Asiayon and a musician Gitalulin Maung Ko Ko, with the assistance given by
the State leaders and cooperation with heart and soul of
government-departments-officials, artists, intellectuals and
intelligentsia, and volunteers, at the National Theatre of Yangon city
from 19th. to 21st. February. It was a great success to strengthen
Myanmar-Japan friendly relations based on that cultural exchange programme.
State leaders and Ambassador of Japan Mr. Kazuo ASAKAI and wife also
attended the special show of the Myanmar-Japan Traditional Cultural
Goodwill Concert which was presented on February 17 at the National
Theatre. Ambassador Mr. Asakai expressed his thanks to the members of the
Myanmar-Japan Traditional Cultural troupe for the serious work had to be
done, arranging things to enable the audience to understand the Japanese
traditional culture within just a short time.
In Japan, "Japan-Myanmar Traditional Goodwill Concert" will be held on May
22 and 23 at Tokyo for the benefit of the Japan-Myanmar friendly relations
and to promote the Myanmar traditional culture. The Japan-Myanmar
Traditional Cultural Goodwill Concert will be jointly presented by
Vice-chairperson of Japan Kimono Association(Keibi-kai), Mrs. Keiko
NAKASHIMA, play-director Bogalay Tint Aung of Myanmar Motion Picture
Asiayon, and a musician Gitalulin Maung Ko Ko . This concert is sponsored
by Institute of Asian Ethno-Forms and Culture. Also Co-Sponsored by: PHP
Research Institute-Myanmar Study Group, Japan-Myanmar Association, Japan
Myanmar Friendship Association, Bunka Orient Corporation, Japan-Myanmar
Economic Corporation Co., Ltd., Zipang Group-Osaka, NEWCOM Co. Ltd, and
Embassy of the Union of Myanmar.
The fund obtained from the concert would be utilized, through the fund
raising-and-managing committee, in the social welfare sector of Myanmar
people. This kind of Japan-Myanmar Traditional Cultural Goodwill Concert
in which the most famous artist-members of Myanmar Motion Picture Asiayon
will be participated, will be the first one in Japan-Myanmar relations.
