The World Bank's Move to resolve the Gridlock in Burma

The World Bank is about to send a technical surveillance
mission to Burma this month for the purpose of investigating the social
and poverty situation in the poor nation forcefully ruled by the military
dictators.
The Bank's motive was to find out whether Burma really
needs
internationla aid or not. The Bank is also considering what political
conditions should be set
in exchange for the assistance that is going to be given. From my point of
view , the regime in Burma is far from making a deal on Aung Sann Suu Kyi.
But what will change the mind of the generals there is up to the World Bank.
International aid without political reforms will only strengthen the regime.
The NLD is , of course ,concerned about the financial aid deal to be cut
without consulting them but the World Bank would not make such a move. Both
sides will have to be consulted on conditions and terms.
