Indian Army attacked CNA



CNA attacked by Indian Army


In the early hour of July 6 1999 morning, the Assam Rifles under the Command
of Lunglei battalion, based at Tuipang, Saiha District of Mizoram attacked a
group of Chin National Army, an armed wing of Chin National Front operating 
along the Indo-Burma border. The attack came for the second time which 
claimed at least four lives of CNA. Ro Hmung and Aung Bawi of the Chin 
National Army, both in their twenties were shot dead during the attack.Their 
bodies were taken away to Saiha for burial by the Assam Rifles.Local sources 
said that the Indian army are under fire of public condemnation.

On June 23 the Indian Army of the same regiment attacked and
destroyed a mobile camp of CNF killing two campers.

Chin National Front (CNF) is one of an armed ethnic groups fighting against
the Burmese miliatry regime for self determination and democracy.
