Secretary-l attends Shwehtidaw hoisting ceremony of 
Cedanagyi Pagoda in Bagan-NyaungU

	YANGON, 27 July-Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development 
Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt attended the ceremony of consecrating Cedanagyi 
Pagoda and hoisting Shwehtidaw atop the pagoda in Bagan-NyaungU today.


The Secretary-1 left here by Tatmadaw aircraft yesterday morning and arrived 
at Bagan-NyaungU Airport at 8.20 am.

The Secretary-1, ministers and the congregation received Five Precepts from 
Alodawpyi Sayadaw Maha Gandhavasaka Pandita Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja 
Bhaddanta Ariyavamsa.
Later, the ceremony to hoist Seinphudaw, Hngetmyatnadaw and Shwehtidaw atop 
the pagoda was held.
Bhaddanta Indobhasa performed the rite of sending back the celestial beings.


The successful completion of the ceremony was marked by the ritual of golden 
and silver showers.


In the morning, the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha consecrated the pagoda.
