India Burma talks end

Senior officials from India and Burma have ended three days of talks in
Delhi.

The Indian delegation was led by the Home Secretary, Kamal Pande, while the
Burmese delegation was led by General Thure Mying Maung, deputy minister for
home affairs.

In a joint statement they said they had agreed to increase co-operation to
tackle what was described as cross-border terrorism and drugs-trafficking.

The two sides also agreed to information exchanges and to co-operation on
banking to promote trade.

India is to provide training to Burmese anti-narcotics officers and to train
four Burmese bank officials.
