Enemies of the Net

20 NATIONS LISTED AS ENEMIES OF THE NET

10 August (AFP, Paris)--Twenty countries are enemies of the Internet
because they control access and censure websites, the journalists' rights
group Reporters San Frontieres (RSF, Reporters Without Borders) said on
Monday. The worst offenders had "censured sites and attacked Internet
users," said a report from the group. They were China, North Korea, Cuba,
Iraq, Iran, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Syria. Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tunisia,
Vietnam and Burma. The former Soviet republics of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan,
Uzbekistan, Kyrgystan, Tajikistan and Turmenistan and Belarus were also named.
