Naga refugees cross into India

Church leaders in the north-east Indian state of Nagaland say nearly
a-thousand Naga refugees have crossed the border from Burma in the past
week.

They say they fled after the Burmese army raided villages in the Sagaing
region of northern Burma, taking away their rice stocks.

Naga rebels in India have used Sagaing as a base, but the refugees deny
being involved in any guerrilla activity there.
