Production Potential
Myanma Agriculture Service in Myanmar is planning
to grow commercially (4000)acres of Roselle

used to produce dyes for foodstuff. The actual
acerage planted last year has been (285) acres and
(800) acres are now being grown this year starting
from Mid of July 1999. An acre of Roselle can
produce (50-60) kilograms of dried calyx so that
the potential production for (4000) acres would be
about (200) MT.
The dried calyx which fetched US $ (1250) PMT last
year has been sold out to Dr.Peter P. Inden of
the following address. The quantity sold is (14)
