Dear Burma Net Editor,
I'm Min Lwin (or) Soeng Kha Mahn as Secretary General of (OMNSO) would
like to sent the statement of the finishing the 99 hours 9 minutes 9 second
HUNGER-STRIKE to your agency for distribution, respectfully.

THE STATEMENT OF THE FINISHING THE 99 HOURS 9 MINUTES 9 SECONDS
HUNGER-STRIKE FOR THE ( 9/9/99 )PRO-DEMOCRACY UPRISING IN BURMA.

While the students, monks and people were demanding for democracy
in the
( 8/8/88 )
pro-democracy uprising in Burma politically and peacefully, because of the
Burmese military led by General Saw Maung seized the state power by force, the
countless innocent students, monks and people were killed cruelly by the State
Law and Order Restoration Council of Burma on the 18th of September 1988.
We have never forgotten about that bloody event and have welcomed
the (
9/9/99 ) pro-democracy uprising of Burma by demonstrating the pro-democracy
demonstration in front of the Burmese Embassy from 3rd and 8th to 18th
September 1999 and also have entered HUNGER-STRIKE from 16th September 1999 in
the morning at 9 o' clock 9 minute and 9 second bravely to 99 hours 9 minutes
and 9 seconds for honoring the late students who have been given their
lives on
the 18th of September 1988 together with 27 Mon strong Organizers, who have
been fleeing from Mon State.
At present, State Law and Order Restoration Council ( SORT) renamed
State Peace and Development Council ( SPDC ) not only has been refusing to
open
the parliament for convening but they also have arrested and sent the strong
organizers and the elected house representatives of Mon National Democratic
Front ( MNDF ) to prison by oppression towards Mon people high-handedly.
We, members of Overseas Mon National Students Organization ( OMNSO )
deeply feel that all of the Burmese Stratocracy' transactions have gone to the
greatest breach of human rights especially towards Mon people
Therefore, we, OMNSO decisively demand to the nefarious State Peace
and
Development Council ( SPDC ) of Burma such as in the following points at the
demonstration of the finishing 99 hours 9 minutes 9 seconds HUNGER-STRIKE in
front of the Burmese Embassy in Bangkok for the
( 9/9/99 ) pro-democracy uprising in Burma.

    * To respect the result of the 1990 May general election and to allow to
open the parliament for convening fast in Burma.
    * To release Mon elected house representatives and strong organizers for
democracy, especially name of MNDF chairman Nai Tun Thein, elected house
representative of Thanphyuzayat, vice-chairman Nai Ngwe Thein, secretary
general Dr. Min Soe Lin, elected house representative of Ye and joint
secretary general Dr. Min KyI Win, elected house representative of Mudon,
    Mon State, Burma.
    * To confer the self-determination to Mon people in Mon Land.

                                                CENTRAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
                                OVERSEAS MON NATIONAL STUDENTS ORGANIZATION,
                                                     ( OMNSO), THAILAND.
