Senior  General Than Shwe inspects  water  
pumping projects,   site   chosen  for   
construction   of Ayeyawady Bridge (Magway) 
in Magway Division Calls for sufficient 
water supply to targeted acreage

 YANGON, 17 Sept - Chairman of the State Peace and
 Development Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence
 Services Senior General Than Shwe inspected water
 pumping  projects and the site designated for the
 construction  of  Ayeyawady  Bridge  (Magway)  in
 Magway,  Magway  Division,  left  here by car for
 Magway  at 6.30 am  yesterday.  In his  guidance,
 Senior  General  Than Shwe  spoke of the need for
 officials  concerned to systematically  calculate
 the expenditure of Kanpya water pumping  project.
 Then,  Senior  General  Than Shwe  inspected  the
 water pumping  project.  Senior General Than Shwe
 and  party  went  to  the  site  chosen  for  the
 construction of Ayeyawady  Bridge  (Magway) which
 will link Minbu and  Magway,  and  inspected  the
 axis  designated  for the  bridge.  Then,  Senior
 General  Than Shwe gave  guidance  on the project
 works of Ayeyawady Bridge (Magway), which will be
 the pride of Magway and Minbu in Magway Division.
 Afterwards,  the Senior General and party visited
 Myathalun Pagoda in Magway at 8.15 pm yesterday.


 The Senior General  signed in the visitors'  book
 and  presented  cash  towards  the pagoda  funds.
 Then, the Senior General and party paid homage to
 the pagoda.
