SPDC soldiers desert their post

On 1/8/99, 7 SPDC soldiers from the 249th IB (Kali-Kunhing township)
defected to the 7th Brigade of SSA-north at the north of Kali tract,
Kunhing
township. These soldiers said they could not tolerate their tyrannical
officers, so they deserted leaving all their equipment behind.
