Subject: TOTAL's European presence after Elf consolidation

TOTAL has significantly broaded its penetration into the european
markets by acquiring an additional 5 000 service stations from Elf. In
the UK they are known today as "Le Shot", in Germany, "LA Boutique".

A boycott in Europe against these stations would have a significant
impact arousing publicity for the Free Burma movement as well as putting
pressure on the TOTALfina-Elf group to reverse its stance as well as the
governments stance of tacit "indirect" support of the junta. When it
comes to paying off the generals and financing pipeline security
directly, and using security companies directly to secure the pipeline,
it defies reason to call this indirect support of the junta, as the
French sometimes do, not wishing to incur the wrath of the powerful
french authorities.
