Cabinet reshuffle in Burma

The military government in Burma has carried out a cabinet reshuffle,
replacing the commerce and sports ministers.

Official media said General Pyi Son had moved from the social welfare
ministry to take over as Commerce Minister from General Kyaw Than.

They said the social welfare ministry would now be headed by General Sein
Htwa, who was handing over the religious affairs portfolio.

At sport, General Sein Ain is being replaced by Aung Khin. And the new
Religious Affairs Minister is General Thura Aye Myint. The official
statement gave no reason for the changes, saying only that the outgoing
ministers, Generals Kyaw Than and Sein Win, had been permitted to retire.
