"Refugee Status" become easy ticket to stay in Japan.

Today, Myanmar/Burmese people living in Japan with many status place
great emphasis on having a wide range of experiences. They try very
hard to struggle their life in Japan. Meanwhile jobless Myanmar/
Burmese people rate are rising. Especially women who were unable to
find a job for a long period of time might have given up hope or
stopped looking for a job.

Older generations of Myanmar/Burmese people who early arrived to Japan
take advantage of the ample time available to them in their golden
years like 1991 - 1996. Many had been high paid workers whether they
have legal visa or not. Even when they have go back to their country
Myanmar, they feel it is time to start a new life in which they can
enjoy their lives comfort and pursuing their personal interests in
many business fields. Some even came back to Japan with legal visa and
set up their own company.

Some of the Myanmar/Burmese are forgot about what their status and why
they came to Japan. Most of them are entered Japan with 90 days
tourist visa, but already expired. Some of them were entering to Japan
with illegal ways, such as fake visas, fake passports, by ships or
containers. Most of the family members who left in Myanmar make use of
whatever assets they have at hand, sharing family income and
individual income as well as family assets or borrowing money from
somebody to send them to working in Japan. They never report to their
embassy which is the main thing and the responsibility of every
Myanmar citizen who is holding Myanmar Passport should do in arriving
to another country.

They do not feel that it is necessary to work first in order to enjoy
themselves later. They want to have fun. The have no longer place the
needs and goals of their families in Myanmar. Instead, to pursue
private interests and to enjoy their personal lives. "Playing Par Chin
Co" , "Taking Alcohol and Various kinds of narcotic drugs" are
damaging their life. They create crimes in Japan which shameful for
other Myanmar/Burmese people. This reflects and creates the problems
and difficulties for other Myanmar/Burmese societies in Japan. There
are many Myanmar/Burmese who do not want to go and eat and enjoy
their Myanmar restaurants.

Those who forget about what their status and why they came to Japan
for earning good money and who can not pay their debts left in their
home country have intention to stay longer in Japan. They want to hide
their weakness and their intention. Even they do not want to go back
their country they do not have any sound future plan in Japan. Those
peoples are becomes the targets of the so-called democracy and human
rights groups. Also the lawyers who want to earn money from them for
legalization procedures and service fees. Also they were easily
organized by them. Finally they are switching to the political reasons
to hiding their weakness and their intention to stay longer in Japan
or spouses of Japanese. The result is Japanese Immigration received
more Refugee Status application and more marriage between Japanese and
Myanmar/Burmese. One of them said if the Japanese Government grant to
him Refugee Status he can do some trading in used house hold business
legally or open a restaurant. I heard a news that one of the Japanese
Immigration officer who handle the Refugee Status Application cases
hang himself because of the heavy duties and stresses.

Recent trend rising jobless situation for Myanmar/Burmese people in
Japan have been worsening over the last five years following the
bursting of the speculative bubble in 1991. The unemployment figure
has hit a record high of 3.4% during the last few years in Japan
itself. Japan today has over 2.1 million people unemployed.

For the elderly Japanese have always been eager to continue working
for several reasons , they wanted to stay active and play a productive
role as long as they can but for elderly Myanmar people like age
between 45 - 55 are more and more difficult to get a job. The
hollowing out of the industries in Japan has resulted in a continuous
decline in the Japanese demand for labor and this looks set to
continue in the years to come. Most of the Myanmar are planning to go
back their home country. I am wishing them to help their country with
their expertise's in the sectors of tourism, construction, small
industrial and related servicings.
