Basic Education High School No 2 in Kyimyindine gets multimedia teaching
centres
YANGON, 11 Dec - Multimedia teaching centres of Basic Education High School
No 2 in Kyimyindine Township were opened this morning.
Chairman of Myanmar Education Committee Secretary -1 of the State Peace and
Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt attend the ceremony to open the
teaching centres and made a speech on the occasion.
Also present on the occasion were ministers, Deputy ministers, the Vice-Mayor
of Yangon, officials of the State Peace and Development Council Office, heads
of department, members of Division/District/Township Peace and Development
Councils, the Director-General and officials of No 3 Basic Education
Department, well-wishers, township education officers, principal, members of
School Board of Trustees and Parent-Teacher Association, Headmistress Daw
Than Shin and teachers and students.
Secretary-1 Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt formally unveiled the signboard of multimedia
teaching centres of the school.
Afterwards, the Secretary-1 and officials inspected educational broadcasting
section, listening and reading section, computer section, demonstrative
mediasection, art room (music), prayer hall, science laboratory, domestic
science room, painting and literature room.
Headmistress explained installation and building of multimedia teaching
centres with the aim of.upgrading learning of students and enabling them to
skilfully handle and operate computer and modern equipment, sector-wise
formation of the teaching centres, and the modern teaching aids.
Chairman of SBT Capt Sein Aung (Reid) explained endeavours for emergence of
the teaching centres under the leadership of SBT, with the coordination of
the headmistress and teachers, and with the cooperation of well-wishers and
and pledged that SBT will continue to make efforts for development of the
school in collaboration with teachers, parents and students.
The Secretary-1 Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt accepted the donations and then signed in
the visitors?f book.
Making a speech on the occasion, Secretary-1 Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt said those
multimedia teaching centres emerged due to the cooperative efforts of members
of SBT, teachers and students.
Implementation of the education promotion programmes is making progress due
to cooperation of the parents and members of SBT, he noted.
The Secretary-1 also spoke of the need to achieve physical and spiritual
development of students to be able to catch up with the changing and
developing world as Information Technology is internationally used on an
extensive scale today.
Opening multimedia teaching centres through cooperative efforts of the State
and SBT members is to fulfil requirements of infrastructure, and he was
pleased to see students showing their skills with the use of modern learning
aids, he said:
The Secretary-1 expressed thanks to members of School Board of Trustees for
their cooperation in implementation of the education promotion programmes
under the leadership of the Government.
In conclusion, he urged teachers to strive to nurture students so that they
will become good sons and daughters of the State.
Later, the Secretary-1, together with the members of SBT and PTA, the
headmistress and teachers and students, had photos taken.
