(1) Secretary-1 Receives Entrepreneurs of Hong Kong Association of 
International Investment

    Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development
Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt  received entrepreneurs led
by Mr. Tsui Sze Man  and  Mr. Hui Chi Ming of Hong
Kong Association of International Investment of the
People's Republic of China who called at Yeikthathit
of the Ministry of Defence on 16 December. They
discussed economic cooperation and matters related to
investment. Mr. Tsui Sze  Man and Mr. Hui Chi Ming
presented  1.2 million  Hong Kong  dollars for Myanmar
Education Committee.
 
(2) MAs from Malaysia Conclude Visit

    A  study group comprising foreign military attaches
to Malaysia  led by Dean of Military Attaches to
Malaysia Military Attaches  of Republic of  Korea  to
Malaysia Col Yoo Young Guen and their  families left
Yangon by air  on 16 December.

(3) Seminar on Possibilities of Myanma Hand-Woven Textile Products Export to 
Japan Held

    The seminar on Possibilities of Myanma Hand Woven
Textile Products Export to Japan,  jointly organized
by the Yangon-based office of Japan  External Trade
Organization  (JETRO) and Cottage Industries
Department, was held at the Traders Hotel on 16
December.  Present on the occasion were  heads of
Cottage Industries Department, Cooperative Department 
and Cooperative Export and Import Enterprise, Managing
Director of Yangon-based  office of JETRO Mr.
Yoshihiro Araki and officials, chairmen and personnel
of producers cooperative  societies, weaving industry
entrepreneurs, guests and proprietors of textile
shops. Managing Director Mr. Yoshihiro Araki and
Director-General of Cottage Industries Department made
a speeches. President of Shoku International Mr.
Takehiko Maki explained possibilities of exporting
Myanmar hand-woven textile products to Japan. 

(4) Thanlyin Open Golf Begins

    The First Thanlyin Open jointly  organised by Myanmar
 Golf Federation, Myanmar Professional Golfers'
Association and Thanlyin Club began at Thanlyin Club
on 16 December. Local professional favourites Myint
Thaung and Win Naing Tun and APGA golfers Soe Kyaw
Naing and Aung Hla Tun  are participating in the
tournament for the prestigious title. In the first
round, Aung Zaw Moe got an ace. After the first round,
Win Naing Tun is leading with 68 strokes  and Aung
Win, Thant Zin, Hsan Tun and Kyaw Win tie at the
second place with 74 each. Myint Thaung, Myint Shwe
and Soe Win Htet are at the third place  with 75 each
and Myo Khaing is behind them with 76. The tournament
continues  on 17 December.
