(1) Senior General Than Shwe and Mr.K H Abdurrahman Wahid Exchange Messages 
of Felicitations on Fiftieth Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic 
Relations Between Myanmar and Indonesia

    Chairman of State Peace and Development Council Senior General Than Shwe 
and President of Republic of Indonesia Mr. K H Abdurrahman Wahid on 27 
December exchanged messages of felicitations on Fiftieth Anniversary of 
Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Myanmar and Indonesia.

    Similarly, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Union of Myanmar and Minister 
for Foreign Affairs of Republic of Indonesia Mr. Alwi Shihab on 27 December 
exchanged
messages of felicitations on the same occasion.

(2) Ceremony to Welcome Year 2000 and to Mark Birthday of Christ Held

    A ceremony to welcome the year 2000 and to mark the birth day of Christ 
of Young Men?s Christian Association (Yangon) was held at the Mya Yeik Nyo
Royal Hotel at 6.30 pm on 26 December. Present  were Minister for Religious 
Affairs, Deputy Minister for Culture, heads of department, officials of the 
social
and religious associations and guests.

(3) Aungban Branch of Yoma Bank Ltd Opened

    A ceremony to open Aungban branch of  Yoma Bank Ltd was held at the bank  
office on Pyidaungsu Road in Ward 4, Aungban, Shan State (South), on 26 
December.

(4) Y2K New Year Market Festival at Asia Plaza

    Y2K New Year Market Festival organized by Chaw Su Lin Advertising Co Ltd 
for the fund of Hnget-an-san Youth Training School of Social Welfare 
Department was held at Asia Plaza on 26 December. The festival opens till 29
