Multi-media teaching centres, related facilities 
being introduced to make students more 
media-conscious

YANGON, 6 Jan - Chairman of Myanmar Education 
Committee Secretary-1 of the State Peace and 
Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt attended the 
opening of multi-media teaching centres of No 1 
Basic Education High School in South Okkalapa 
Township and No 6 Basic Education Primary School 
in Kyauktada Township today.


The Secretary-l formally unveiled the signboard of 
the multi-media teaching centres .

Then, the Secretary-1 and party inspected the altar 
room, the computer-aided instruction room; the 
computer application and e-mail room, the educational 
broadcasting service, the language lab, the 
painting room, the domestic and handicraft 
exhibition room and the music room.


Afterwards, a ceremony to mark the opening of 
the multi-media teaching centres was held in 
Thiri Yadana Hall of the school.


The Secretary-l signed in the visitors' book.


Headmistress Daw Khin Than Yee reported on the 
multimedia teaching centres opened for all-round 
development of the students, and Chairman of the 
School Board of Trustees Dr Zaw Win Myat on 
efforts for the opening of the multi-media 
teaching centres with the assistance of 
well-wishers and arrangements for extension 
of the multi-media teaching centres.


In his address, the Secretary-l said that it is 
heartening to see that the students are 
demonstrating their skills at the opening 
of the multimedia teaching centres and the 
teachers are training them systematically, 
and it is also encouraging for the development 
of human resources.

Efforts are being made for the development of 
various sectors without losing sight of the 
advancement of the world of today and keeping 
abreast with it.

For two years, education promotion programmes 
have been implemented for the well-rounded 
education of the students and uplift of 
education standard up to the international 
level, and due to active participation of 
the people, the education promotion programmes 
are making progress and taking shape.


In striving for modernization and development 
of a nation, the development of human resources 
is important, and for the emergence of human 
resources, schools play a fundamental role.


At present, efforts are being made to be able 
to open multimedia teaching centres at the 
schools with the aim of keeping abreast with 
the advancement of information-technology 
aided by electronic equipment.


In conclusion, the Secretary-1 urged all 
to strive for emergence of worthy and 
stalwart sons and daughters.


The Secretary-l also attended and addressed 
the opening of multimedia teaching centres 
of No 6 BEPS in Kyauktada Township; 
Headmistress Daw Nyunt Nyunt and Chairman 
of the School Board of Trustees U Shwe Yin 
formally opened the multimedia teaching centres.


Then, the Secretary-1 and party viewed the 
skill demonstration of the students at the 
reading and listening room, the computer 
room, the demonstrative media room, the 
altar room, the domestic science room, 
the painting room, the school health and 
nutritious food room and the music room.

Afterwards, a ceremony to mark the opening of 
the multimedia teaching centres was held at 
the school.

Headmistress Daw Nyunt Nyunt reported on 
the purpose of multimedia teaching centres, 
installation of teaching aids and arrangements 
for all-round development of the students, 
and Chairman of the School Board of Trustees 
U Shwe Yin on efforts for the opening of the 
multimedia teaching centres with the 
assistance of well-wishers and parents.

Next, the Secretary-1 accepted donations 
including K 245,700 donated by parents, 
K 100,000 by Chairman of the. School Board 
of Trustees U Shwe Yin, K 150,000 by 
Treasurer of School Health and Nutritions 
Development Association Daw Chwe Lan and 
K 1.068 million by the teachers and parents.


In his address, the Secretary-1 said at 
the primary school level in Kyauktada 
Township, No 6 BEPS is the fourth where 
the multimedia teaching centres have 
been opened.


The Secretary-l lauded the efforts of 
the school boards of trustees, parents, 
teachers and regional authorities to 
open the multimedia teaching centres 
at the primary school level.


It is heartening to see the students' 
keen intellect, active behaviour, 
maintenance of discipline, good conduct, 
sense of cherishing traditional culture 
and observance of the environment.

The Secretary-1 also thanked teachers 
for giving systematic training to the 
students.

In conclusion, the Secretary-1 urged 
all to strive in unity to continuously 
turn out intellectuals and intelligentsia 
necessary for the building of a peaceful, 
modern and developed nation.
