Unjustified Murder
On 6, January 12, 2000 Karen New Year ceremony was held in Wa-Paw village of
Ye-township led by villagers from that area. They held sport matches and Karen
traditional dances on that day. After the Karen New Year ceremony on 9 January
2000, SPDC troops from the Ye-township based # 299 battalion, led by Lt. Col.
Aye Tun and his members (about 60 soldiers) came and arrested Ko Ohn Myaing
from Wa-Paw village. Then they shot Ko Ohn Myaing in front of the villager's
beause Lt. Col. Aye Tun said that Ko Ohn Myaing contacted with KNU. Besides, he
told the villagers that he would kill all villagers if they contacted with KNU
and supported the KNU.
